We have been learning how to hold our scissors safely and use them carefully to cut along lines and around different shapes. The children have been working hard to develop their hand strength, coordination and fine motor skills. We are so proud of the concentration and perseverance everyone has shown. Well done, Puffins! 🌟 

This week, for maths week 3 B built 3D shapes!  To better understand 3D shapes, we constructed our own "skeleton" models using matchsticks or pipe cleaners as the straight edges and blobs of playdough to connect them at the vertices. Building these physical structures gave everyone a much clearer picture of how 3D shapes come together. H e r e a r e s o m e l o v e l y p h o t o s o f o u r r e s u l t s:

 

Last week, we visited Wat Tyler Country Park for a day of exploring and learning. We discovered how birds are classified, used binoculars to spot and identify different breeds, and visited the bird hide. We even learnt how bird calls help them find and communicate with their flock! 🐦🔭 In the afternoon, we explored grassland and woodland habitats, searching for minibeasts — including  two Devil’s Coach Horse beetles!  🪲 A fantastic day full of discovery, nature and learning! 🌳✨
