5RD Mini Marathon in school

Image
This week, 5RD have been taking part in the TCS Mini Marathon in schools and their effort has been incredible! Each day, we’ve been completing 4 laps to build up our stamina, working towards a fantastic goal of 2 miles by the end of the week. The determination shown by every single pupil has been inspiring and even more impressively, some children have been asking to do extra laps! It’s been wonderful to see such enthusiasm, resilience, and team spirit. We are so proud of you all. 5RD, you are amazing!

Exploring mathematics in Wagtail Class

Image
Wagtail Class have been working really hard to explore the idea of halves! They’ve been learning how to recognise when an object or shape is split into two equal parts. To help with this, they carried out a fun investigation—cutting and folding different shapes to check whether the halves were truly equal. It’s been great to see their curiosity and teamwork in action as they experimented and discovered together!

5RD Pasta Taste testing 🍝

Image
This morning, 5RD took part in a delicious and exciting pasta taste-testing session as part of our food technology project. We explored a variety of pasta shapes and sauces to help inspire our very own pasta pot designs. There was lots of enthusiasm as we sampled each combination.  One student described it as “like an Italian breakfast,” while another favourite was “a beautiful tomato sauce with the farfalle and mozzarella.” Our classroom was filled with smiles, conversation and the wonderful aromas of Italian cuisine. By the end of the session, our tummies were full and we had gathered plenty of inspiration for our upcoming designs. A fantastic morning of learning, tasting, and fun!
