Hands-On Science: 3B Exploring the Mohs Scale of Hardness!

Our young geologists have been hard at work this week getting up close and personal with Earth science!

This week, 3B jumped into an exciting hands-on exploration focused on Mohs Scale of Hardness. Armed with scratch tools, our mission was to test the physical properties of each rock by seeing which ones easily shed sediments and which ones held strong.

It was really fun putting our scientist hats on during the lesson to make hypotheses, thinking of what we believed would be the easiest rocks to grind sediments off and which may not scratch at all!
