This week in Hummingbirds, we have been reading ‘Martha Maps It Out’. We have been looking at different types of maps and discussing how important landmarks and key features are in maps so that we can recognise where things are. Today, we were given maps of the classroom to try and find some treasure. We read the map in pairs and worked out that the treasure must be in the sandpit. We were so surprised to see that hiding in the sandpit were lots of bubbles!
Today was our Big Plant Out, and it was a fantastic day! 🌱 We got stuck into gardening, planting sweet peas, flowers, herbs, and vegetables, with plenty of laughter and muddy hands along the way. It was a great reminder of how rewarding it is to work together and create something beautiful, now we wait, water, and watch everything grow. 🌼
Puffin Class had so much fun today learning about how plants grow. We planted lots of new flowers and seeds this year to grow this summer. We took extra care when watering them too. Dig! Scoop! Plant! Fill! Thanks Mrs Wisner for teaching us how to plant the flowers correctly. Prepare the seeds to plants. Some new flowers to brighten up the school field. Fresh strawberries in time for summer. Digging up the weeds to make space for the fresh flowers.
